Welcome to our modest ocean front cottage! Simple beach living awaits you in this adorable 3 bed, 2 bath home. Just 250 feet of gently rolling dunes lay between you and the ocean. Our home is in the remote 4WD area of Currituck County NC. Pet friendly. If you are looking for the hustle and bustle of an Atlantic Boardwalk, this place is not for you. Come spend time with nature including our wild horses. Precious memories await you!!
The Space
This ocean front cottage has been nestled in the dunes of the Outerbanks 4x4 area in Corolla NC for nearly 50 years. She has seen it all yet stands adorably against the elements. Modern, clean, comfortable, private accommodations await you here.
Beautiful views! Sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. Wild horses roam free and will occasionally visit you at the cottage. In fact, one of the newest additions to the Corolla Wild Horse herd was just born a few hundred yards from our home this spring. She has been in our yard and is adorable!
We are located off road in the 4-wheel drive area. Your vehicle must have 4WD or AWD with a high enough clearance get through soft sand. There are no paved roads here.
Sit on the wrap around porch with your morning coffee or your evening drink and take in what nature offers you. The pelicans will glide by. The osprey will fish. The dolphins will frolic. The songs of a content mockingbird may greet you throughout the day or even the romantic call of a whippoorwill in the evenings. Just a short 2-minute walk off of the front porch will have your toes in the water of the Atlantic Ocean.
Depending on the time of the year, our cottage is available for a minimum of 7 nights from Saturday to Saturday. In the off season, the cottage is available for a minimum of 3 nights. Off season check in days may vary based on your needs.
The cottage is non-smoking. We are pet friendly and charge $100 for up to two dogs during your stay.

Beach parking permits are required when parking at the water’s edge from the last Saturday of April through the first Saturday in October. We will provide you with that parking pass. The cottage is oceanfront so parking on the water’s edge is not necessary if you are traveling light for the day. When you do choose to put your coolers, chairs, boogie boards, etc. into your vehicle for the big beach day and you do park at the water’s edge, you will need that parking permit. Another beauty of your accommodations is that you are just a quick walk to the cottage for a bathroom break or a child’s nap. You do not need a parking permit to drive in the 4x4 area or park at our cottage.
Sheets, bath towels, kitchen towels, blankets and pillows are provided, gas grill w/propane provided, TV in all bedrooms and living room, Netflix, DVD players, and Wi-Fi.
All homes in the 4x4 area are on individual wells. While the water here is 100% safe, clean, and reliable, it may not have that “city water” feel to it. Guests may wish to purchase bottled water for drinking purposes. We are on a good well with a good water conditioner so you will be in great shape with this house.
